Dear John,

Thank you for your kind generosity. Your book came to me at a time when need a lift. I have an 18-year-old son who is struggling with depression, at 18 he does not know what he wants to be and he feels like a lost soul.

He is a freshman in college and his failing just about every subject, so his self esteem is as low as it can get. I have been trying to get him into counseling but he refuses to go.

I read your book and it gave me uplift on the powers to refocus one's energies to succeed. You never know where inspiration might come from.

For me it came in a package from you. So thank you. I continue to encourage my son with love and understanding and I know he will find himself and succeed in life. I can now preach to him the Bee's, "Become, Be near and Be ready."

I brought your book to our last Rotary meeting and told my fellow Rotarians of your generosity to donate 100 copies of your book to supplement our Dictionary project and New Orleans library project. The group all applauded your contribution.

Each Tuesday the Okatie Rotary club meets at Sigler Restaurant and we usually have a guest speaker. If you were interested in coming to our club and speaking about your book and the Sandy Stockings Foundation, we would love to have you.

Thank you again and I look forward to meeting you.

Very truly,
Steve

John, You are awesome! I just received the books for my nieces and I know they are going to absolutely love the book. I can't wait to see their faces when they see your personal message to them inside the cover. We will tell the others about your book, they are anxious to get their own copy.

Chloe and Olivia were here today and were so excited to see their names and read your message to them in the front cover. You made their day!

Dana's daughter, Mariah (a 7th grader), read the book while she was out of school visiting her mom at work today and she gave it rave reviews. She said "I wish I had been able to read this book before I went into 6th grade. It would have helped me a lot. It's like he's (author) in the mind of a 6th grade girl." All of my nieces are in that transition between elementary to middle school and I can't wait to hear what they have to say about your book. I'm sure it will help them too.

Thank you so much for this wonderful book! I can't wait to share it with all the special girls in my life!

Sincerely,
Julie

Dear Mr. Jacobs,
The book relates a very positve and motivational message not only to young readers but also adults. I look forward to reading your next peice.

John, I read the book cover to cover on the flight back. Couldn't put it down. Lessons for many, not just young people. Great job!

Book one was like a really inspiration to me because she followed her dream of becoming an actor even know her mother didn't want her to and tried to keep her from doing anything that dealt with acting. It showed that if you really want something then you shouldn't let anyone or anything come between you and your dream.

John,
I should have gotten back to you much sooner. Your book is terrific! It is a true teaching tool. I am glad if I was in any way one you felt was adding to your desire to achieve and to help children.

I will be honored to have the next book. Maybe sometime I can tell you what I have been doing with my life since Bud passed on.

Your friend,
Ruth

Hello Mr. Jacobs,

I had time read a small portion of your book and found it to be a well thought out story. A huge component of successfully grasping the desired audience of a book is the cover. I wanted to commend you and the illustrator. Also, great alliteration of the S in your sub title.

You have numerous pros going for you in this attempt to create a children's book set, for starters you are a male and the perception we often receive is far from passive and understanding. Great job of deterring the stereotype. Beyond your focus being geared toward the adolescent audience we are taken with an adolescent girl, this proves that warmth and understand is with men as well as woman. As a whole the stories attempt to connect her issues with those that we as adults strive to put behind us is fascinating. I am working on a play that deals with that exactly.

A single father following the routine to take his daughter and son to a play ground find himself deeply observing their actions. He is intrigued at the simply lessons of a deeper morality that he learns. Issues of ; Fear of acceptance, Fear of change, Notions of who is Superior, and several more that literally feed and stem from one another. The end all power struggle being the fear of being left behind so we fight for dominance. Our care for others and the life that surrounds us holds no merit, ever actions that we make becomes another form of deception to place ourselves above the next. After learning these lessons through their games of Simon Says, House, and several other the father reevaluates his honesty and the merit he carries with it.

Well none the less I commend you and plan to finish the book soon. I will give you constructive criticism after completing the book. Tell your wife I said Hello and may both of you continue to be blessed and a blessing to others.

Write back soon,

Kenneth

Hi John,
My name is Teresa. I noticed your book, I Wanna Be. . . on Julie's bookshelf and asked to take it home to read. It's a great read for any age. It gets you back to basic 101 inspiration. It also proved very "timely" for our 13 year old daughter, Courtney. She also read, enjoyed, and benefited from the message(s). Your story really was a delight for this Mother to observe her 1) reading and 2) the book had her laughing out loud and later, crying . . .and so on until the happy ending.

Mainly reading your book instead of being on MySpace and all the other troubles that our young teens today can get into today. So, a big heartfelt thank you!

Best regards, Teresa

I am well for an over 70 old lady. You book is terrific. I particularly liked the ending.

John,
In all honesty, you made me believe in myself. I always knew I was differant, I seen things that other people did not see. But my my whole childhood would haunt me everyday. When you hired me at Sataria, I thought: why would he hire me? I was stupied,so thats what my step father always told me. John when I started opening up and speaking with you everyday, you made me feel like I was a real person. That is when I knew I could do it.But you know that now I am going back to school, I trulely know who I am. I want alot for myself, and I know how to get it.Sometimes people just need to know that they are a real person, and need someone to believe inthem.I know alot of people that just want to hear they are a good worker and they are doing a good job, That to me is telling them they are important.I have always had real low self esteem. I mean none whats so ever. when you told me I was a good worker, you gained my trust. I always have looked up to you, just because you have made it far in life, and you just keep going. You have been the most positive person in my life.Very inspiring. So thank you! But yes, I would like to have some of those books, there are so many people at school that could use some direction in life.
Jess
